Are you a midwife, nurse, doctor or dentist?
IMA is looking for experienced medical practitioners who are willing to volunteer at our clinic in Soroti Uganda. The clinic in Soroti is staffed by Ugandan health professionals. Our volunteers provide crucial oversight, as well as professional development and skills upgrading for the Ugandan staff.
Midwives need many years of experience. Homebirth experience is especially valuable. You must hold a verifiable credential, the CPM or CNM. If you are a homebirth midwife licensed
in your jurisdiction who doesn’t hold the CPM, we will likely honor your state license. In
addition to midwives, we send RNs with skills appropriate to the setting, and we welcome medical doctors. If you feel uniquely qualified to work with our program and do not fit these criteria, please feel free to contact the Program Director (below) to discuss your situation.
IMA is extremely interested in finding a dentist who would like to volunteer in Uganda. Dental care is unavailable to our patients, and much could be done to help in just a few weeks.
IMA prefers a commitment of at least two months (eight weeks) of work at the project location. (We welcome and encourage longer stays.) Depending on the project, we may discuss stays of shorter duration. IMA covers the costs of air travel, ground travel, food and lodging. We also provide evacuation insurance.
